Shareholder

James became a shareholder at Jones Hall in 2016 and has been practicing law since 2007.  Prior to joining Jones Hall, James represented corporate and non-profit clients in a variety of financing and other corporate transactions at law firms in San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and New York City.  He serves as bond counsel, disclosure counsel and underwriter’s counsel in financings that include:

James represents cities, counties, school districts, water agencies, and other local government entities throughout California, as well as national and regional investment-banking firms. His practice focuses primarily on bond counsel and disclosure counsel work for cities and counties, with a particular expertise in land-secured financings such as Mello-Roos special tax bonds.

While not practicing law, James enjoys hiking, and engaging in other outdoor activities with his wife and daughter. He also takes advantage of the Bay Area’s close proximity to nearby Napa and Sonoma wine country.
