Project

de Young Museum

Founded in 1895 in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, the de Young Museum has been an integral part of the cultural fabric of the city. On October 15, 2005, the de Young Museum re-opened in a state-of-the-art new facility that integrates art, architecture and the natural landscape.

The Story

Jones Hall served as bond counsel to the ABAG Finance Authority for Nonprofit Corporations on bonds issued to fund a portion of the construction costs of the iconic de Young Museum. Jones Hall worked with the Authority, the City and County of San Francisco and the Corporation of Fine Arts Museums, the owner and operator of the de Young, to structure the financing in a way that achieved the goals of both the City and the Corporation.
