Project

San José City Hall

The San José City Hall is the centerpiece of a seven-block redevelopment district of new and existing buildings unified through streets, walkways, plazas, courtyards, and fountains. The project comprises an eighteen-story office building to consolidate the city departments, the city council chambers, a major civic rotunda, an exterior plaza, and below-grade parking.

The Story

Jones Hall served as bond counsel to the City of San José on several issues that funded the planning, acquisition and construction costs of the project. The financings included an initial variable rate bond issue for planning purposes, a Lease Revenue Bond Anticipation Note that received the highest short term ratings from Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch to fund land acquisition, and subsequent variable and fixed rate bond issues to finance and refinance construction costs.
